Aspen Ladd began her journey into combat sports at the young age of fourteen. She began training in kickboxing boxing wrestling and BJJ before making her debut as an amateur at the age of 18 at WCFC with Jaimee Nievera. Ladd later went on to beat three times consecutively at Ultimate Reno Combat. All her opponents were finished within the first five minutes. Then she returned to WCFC and beat Leslie Rodriguez via unanimous decision. Aspen won against Silvia Babaeghian, Maddy Simmons and Cynthia Calvillo before facing Cynthia Calvillo in WCFC 9 Cynthia dominated Aspen to defeat her in a unanimous decision, putting an ominous mark on her records as an amateur. Ladd recovered from the loss and defeated Roma Pawelek at Tuff-N-Uff to improve her record up to 8-1. Aspen signed her contract with Invicta FC in 2015 to make her debut as a pro. Invicta Aspen fought Ana Carolina Vidal in Invicta 2011, and was victorious by the first round TKO. Invicta Combat Championships 16, She won the next match with Amanda Cooper through a second-round Armbar submission. Aspen utilized her expertise in wrestling to knock out McGill via TKO in the third-round (elbows and punches). She next fought Jessica Hoy at Invicta FC 18 at catchweight(138.1lb) because Ladd missed weight despite this Aspen defeated Hoy and finished her off in the second round by KO.
