Adele

AdeleAdele Mara (April 28, 1923 until May 7 in 2010), was an American singer, actress and dancer who appeared in movies during the 1940s and 1950s and in television during the 1950s, 1960s and later. Adele St. Mara became her name professionally and she was offered a contract from Columbia Pictures[citation necessaryto be cited. She was able to work in comedy shorts as well as features for Columbia Pictures "B". The title was changed to Adele Mara. One of her first roles was as a receptionist in the Three Stooges film I Can Hardly Wait. Mara as well as Leslie Brooks played the sisters of Rita Hayworth's character in the Fred Astaire film You Were Never Lovelier. She plays the role of Alias Boston Blackie (1942) in the role of the sister of a wrongfully accused and escaped convict. She moved to Republic Pictures after her Columbia contract was ended. In Republic Pictures, she was a part of westerns and outdoor adventures. The actress was featured in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch starring John Wayne, Angel in Exile (leading lady), Sands of Iwo Jima with John Wayne in which she was John Agar's love-interest, California Passage (leading lady), and Don Siegel's Count the Hours (supporting role).
